Arkansas Prescribed Burn Association

Late last year, my growing interest in documenting nature conservation and the people working to restore and improve natural habitats across our state led me to connect with the Arkansas Prescribed Burn Association. APBA’s goals are to promote, equip, train, sustain, and lead prescribed fire efforts throughout Arkansas. I was invited out to photograph a recent burn and quickly learned from the volunteers and landowners how beneficial and restorative a controlled burn can be for the land and for wildlife habitat. This is a collection of images from my time out in the field.
